Ubisoft has warned that the online modes of many of its games on the PC and Mac will be unavailable next week when the company moves its gaming servers.
The transition is expected to take place on February 7, and will affect Tom Clancy's HAWX 2, Heroes of Might and Magic 6, and The Settlers 7 on the PC. Mac games affected include Assassin's Creed, Splinter Cell Conviction, and The Settlers 7.
The Uplay service on the PC will go offline, and any games that use the service will be rendered inaccessible until the service comes back online. Ubisoft notes that the PC games it has not mentioned will not be affected so long as the player has already connected to the servers once before. Newer games like Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Anno 2070, The Settlers Online, and Driver: San Francisco will also be unaffected by the downtime as they are already located on the new servers.
Ubisoft has not stated when the services will resume, but we do not expect the downtime to last for too long.
