Starfield was quickly one of the more anticipated games coming into this year. Bethesda has been teasing this title for years, even before we had the latest-generation console platforms. Instead, Bethesda would tell fans that they could expect this game sometime when the next-generation platform is released. Of course, since then, Bethesda has been acquired by Microsoft, turning Starfield into an exclusive. While fans have been going through the latest-generation RPG from the folks over at Bethesda, it’s clear that some fans are finding areas that could be tweaked.
It’s not surprising that some areas could be fixed. Starfield is a massive game, and after developers are getting feedback from players worldwide now, there are bound to be plenty of adjustments that they have planned. But one fan has already taken it upon themselves to fix an issue they had an issue with. This latest mod that has gained some popularity online adjusts the camera to when you speak with NPCs. If you felt that the sudden camera change that showed a closeup of the character you were talking with broke immersion, this new mod might fix that.
Thanks to a Reddit thread, we’re finding out about the Disable Dialogue Camera mod. This mod simply keeps the camera angle to however it’s placed before triggering a dialogue with a character. Some fans have expressed how much they dislike the current standard default camera setup. For instance, some fans have noted that the animations being close up to the NPC can be jarring, or the fact that the camera always makes it look as if we’re at eye level despite an NPC being seated can be annoying.
This mod should help subside this issue for now. However, it’s only available on the PC through Nexus Mods. That shouldn’t be surprising, as we don’t have mod support quite yet for the game. We should have an official mod support sometime next year. That will also help bring more modders into the game and add new thrilling content while we wait for new official DLC drops to persuade players to press forward with their character progressions.
Again, Starfield is available right now, which you can purchase for both PC and Xbox Series X/S platforms. Likewise, since this is a Microsoft first-party video game, you can also expect the title to be available on the Xbox Game Pass subscription service.
