The ‘beta’ for Mass Effect 3 was leaked months ago, giving a few lucky players a taste of the upcoming RPG. The good news for everyone who hasn’t yet had a chance to play the game and isn’t sure if they want to buy it is that Bioware has plans to release a demo for Mass Effect 3 in the near future.
Intent on playing the demo, fans asked Bioware on the game’s official forum as to whether they will require a Gold membership of Xbox Live to get their hands on the demo.
Speaking for the developer, Chris Priestly said in an official post on the Bioware Social Network forums that a gold account will be required to play the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer demo.
However, he noted that the demo of Mass Effect 3 will also include a limited time Gold access that activates when you download the demo.
The fact may still displease fans who are getting the game on the Xbox 360, as the multiplayer mode in the retail version of Mass Effect 3 will require an Xbox Live Gold membership—not that it’s any different from any existing multiplayer game on the platform.
