Starfield players might still be heavily focused on the game. This was quickly one of the biggest and most anticipated video game releases in 2023. However, just with any major game release, there are a slew of fixes to be had. While it’s been heavily reported that this is Bethesda’s least buggy game, it’s not entirely free from them. The development team is adjusting with more players actively playing the game and providing feedback. A new update has rolled out for Starfield on Xbox Series X/S and PC platforms.
If you’re actively playing Starfield, here are some adjustments you want to make note of. This update will bring the game to 1.7.33. The fixes are minor, and it’s not a significant update. However, you will find some general fixes and enhancements to performance and stability. For instance, if you had some characters go out of whack and not be present in their designated spot, this fix will address that. You’ll also find that Star Stations is no longer labeled as a player-owned ship. There should also be some addresses towards the Hand Scanner if it were previously causing hitching.
If you took over another ship, those interested in ships might have found the Razorleaf Storage Containers and the Weapon Racks to eat your items. That issue has since been resolved. Of course, some additional stability updates will make the game perform better. Again, those of you who had problems with random crashing or freezes should hopefully not see them anymore or, at the very least, far less than before.
Again, this is just a smaller update. The Bethesda team noted they are working on a more extensive update for Starfield. This would add features and improvements to the game. Just when we’ll see this update land into the marketplace and what all it will entail remains to be seen. However, that should hopefully address some of the more prominent issues players have been dealing with in the game. For example, one issue we have seen quite a bit when Starfield first launched was the lack of a city map system. It can be somewhat annoying to try and navigate your way around the cities when you first land within them. After all, how many of you spent much of your time in New Atlantis trying to find specific shops or The Well?
We’ll continue to monitor for when this major update is released. Meanwhile, if you want the full patch notes for 1.7.33, you can find them right here. In the meantime, if you have yet to pick up Starfield, you can view our Before You Buy video coverage below.
