Tekken fans are waiting on the next mainline installment to hit the marketplace. We don’t have a specific date attached to this game quite yet. However, some players are getting a look at the title thanks to the Tekken 8 closed network test. So while we’re still waiting for the game to have a release date attached to it, there are some who will get to try the game mechanics out. Now it appears that a partial of the roster was leaked online thanks to Cheat Engine.
It seems that Tekken 8 closed network test allowed one individual to use the Cheat Engine program to uncover some files. This data mine might have just unveiled some of the characters that have yet to be officially unveiled. Of course, this could be completely false, so we have to list these characters out as nothing more than a rumor. But thanks to a Reddit post that shared the image showing the roster lineup from the Tekken community Discord server, we can at least see some potential returning characters.

Fans are pointing out that this is not the full roster, as there are some notable omissions here. However, it’s still a look at some of the characters that might be popping back into this franchise when the latest installment drops. If you haven’t been keeping tabs on this game, the narrative here takes place shortly after the events from Tekken 7. We know that this storyline will focus on ending the Mishima bloodline’s curse.
Gameplay-wise, there are some changes with a focus more on providing aggressive play. This new Heat gauge system is what is being pushed here. We know that the previous Rage Drive is being reworked into the new system as well, but we’ll have to wait and see just how fans take to the new aggressive rewarding playstyle. While the release date is a mystery for now, we know that Tekken 8 will be released from Bandai Namco for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms.
