Ubisoft is a major developer and publishing company. They also have a few notable games in the works, such as Star Wars Outlaws. Over the years, we’ve seen several games launch on PC for a variety of online digital storefronts. One of the biggest is Steam. However, it wasn’t too long ago that Ubisoft started focusing on releasing its games through Ubisoft’s own digital storefront and Epic Games Store. Since then, Ubisoft has started once again to bring its games to the Steam digital marketplace.
It seems that the number of active users on Steam was far too grand to pass up. But when it comes to their anticipated Star Wars video game release, it might be a title PC players will be forced into using their Ubisoft Connect to obtain. If you were looking to get this Star Wars Outlaws title when it launches into the marketplace for PC, then your options might be limited to just Ubisoft’s own digital storefront. At least, that’s the only digital storefront being showcased officially right now.
Thanks to a report by The Gamer, we’re finding that the only platforms being advertised on the official page for the game are Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Ubisoft Connect. That might be frustrating for some players who try to pick up their more anticipated and desired games on their preferred digital client. Of course, we could end up seeing this game launch on other digital storefronts down the road. It very well might be a case of this Star Wars title being a timed exclusive under Ubisoft Connect.
Regardless, we have a good while before this title even launches. Currently, Star Wars Outlaws are not slated to even launch until next year, 2024. If you haven’t been keeping tabs on this game, it was recently fully unveiled during this year’s Xbox Games Showcase. We know that this title is set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
Players are taking the role of an outlaw named Kay Vess, trying to pull off the biggest heist the Outer Rim has ever seen. So far, we know this will be an action-adventure game with an open-world component. While we wait for more information to find its way out into the public, you can view a game trailer for this upcoming title in the video we have embedded below.
