Rising Star Games, the publisher bringing all those strange Japanese games to Europe, has opened a digital and American branch of the business.

Rising Star Games, the publisher brave enough to bring Deadly Premonition to Europe, has opened an American branch and will begin publishing games to the US over the next 6 months. Their first game will see simultaeneous release across the US and EU and will be Akai Katana from Japanese shooter specialist CAVE.

They've also announced Rising Star Games Digital, who will bring top class digital titles to XBLA, PSN, iOS and Steam. Rising Star Games Digital will be a worldwide company although no news on what they're currently working on.

From the press release:

Martin Defries, managing director, Rising Star Games said, “After eight years of fantastic success in bringing the best Eastern games to Europe, we’re ready to expand our business, engaging more consumers than ever before in more territories and on digital platforms.” He continued, “Rising Star Games Digital has been something we’ve been working on for a while.
