Square Enix recently held an event known as Final Fantasy Uncovered where more information surrounding their upcoming Final Fantasy video game, Final Fantasy XV, was set to be revealed. Unfortunately for Square Enix, certain aspects of that event such as trailers and a launch date, was leaked online. Although, Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV was one announcement we did not foresee.
For those who didn’t catch the event, we have a nice recap on the bigger announcements and reveals right here. One of those announcements was a featured-length CG film known as Final Fantasy XV, a film set within the same universe as the upcoming video game, but focusing on certain characters outside of the main protagonist and his friends.
The film follows the kingdom of Lucis during a war between the menacing empire of Niflheim, an empire who only seeks to obtain the special last hallowed Crystal that the Lucis kingdom possess. At odds as to how the kingdom can withstand against the Niflheim empire, King Regis of Lucis decides to command an elite force of soldiers dubbed the Kingsglaive. Nyx Ulric, one of the members of the Kingsglaive realizes that he may be one of the last stands against the evil empire and the survival of his kingdom.
There are some pretty big name actors attached to the film which includes Sean Bean (Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones), Lena Headey (300, Game of Thrones), and Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad). Currently, it’s unknown just when the film will become available though it will be released outside of theaters to stream or download.
