We’re moving into June here soon, and that is already looking to be stacked with showcases and streams. While we won’t get E3 this year, it will still be a full month of exciting new video game announcements and updates. However, if you’re keener on the PlayStation side of things, you might get a look into what they have inbound sooner than expected. It might be that this coming month we’ll get a look into what is coming for the PlayStation Showcase.
Jeff Grubb is a journalist and industry insider that has continued to showcase insight into what is inbound. Speaking during a recent podcast from Giant Bomb, the individual announced that he believes Sony is preparing to have their PlayStation Showcase next month. That’s, of course, just speculation right now, from what Jeff knows, but he did mention that this could be a showcase that will happen before the Summer Games Fest. So at the very latest, we would see the PlayStation Showcase in early June.
Right now, we have to label this just as a rumor right now as Sony has yet to unveil when players can get their next major PlayStation Showcase event. Regardless, it would be thrilling just to see what all PlayStation has in store for players. There’s been plenty of rumors in terms of hardware, as we’ve seen reports of a supposed new model of the PlayStation 5 in the past. Then there’s the anticipation that we’ll get a PlayStation 5 Pro model as well. But outside of that, we’ll have plenty of video games likely ready to be shared with fans of PlayStation worldwide.
Perhaps we’ll finally get a look into the upcoming multiplayer game for The Last of Us franchise. With as much hype and excitement that IP has gained from the HBO live-action adaptation alone, this could be a perfect opportunity to showcase some insight as to what this game installment will entail for players. At any rate, we’ll have to continue waiting for Sony to reveal just when the next showcase will happen for fans. In the meantime, we know that Summer Games Fest will be held on June 8, 2023, and hosted by game journalist Geoff Keighley.
