Ubisoft has announced that the 3DS version of Rayman Origins will be out on March 20. The slightly belated 3DS release features the same levels and co-op gameplay as the console versions, though — surprise, surprise — it's now in 3D.
The publisher also sent over a new behind the scenes video, featuring interviews with members of the dev team. We get an insider glimpse at the art direction, music, and game design processes, as well as the philosophy that underscores each.
Still, there's one question the video doesn't answer: What kind of crazy do you have to be to greenlight a big budget 2D platformer in an age of FPS and RPG dominance. Judging by how well the game turned out, we're guessing it's the awesome kind.
Rayman Origins was met with widespread critical acclaim when it was released last November for the 360, PS3, and Wii. A PlayStation Vita version of the game is also in the works, scheduled to launch alongside the new handheld in February.
