Twisted Metal Goes Gold, Bringing Sweet Tooth Skin for Starhawk

January 23, 2012 by Josh Harmon

The game is done, and Eat Sleep Play is giving every copy a free Starhawk DLC code to celebrate.

Eat Sleep Play's Twisted Metal sequel/reboot has gone gold. In other words, the coding is done, the final build of the game has been burned to a disc, loaded into the back of a truck (presumably of the ice cream variety), and sent off to be pressed and shipped to stores.

To celebrate the milestone, Eat Sleep Play has announced that every copy of the game will come with an added perk: a code for a custom, Twisted Metal-themed skin for LightBox Interactive's Starhawk. As far as crossovers go, the Sweet Thooth Outcast Multiplayer skin is pretty tastefully done. The design meshes well with Starhawk's aesthetics, save for the flaming hair, but then, we can probably all agree that it's an improvement.

Twisted Metal, a PS3 exclusive, will be out in North America on February 14, otherwise known as Valentine's Day. Let's hope your loved one's idea of romance includes blowing up gang members with a heavily armed postapocalyptic ice cream truck.

Starhawk, another exclusive, launces on May 8th. A rolling beta is now underway, currently open to PlayStation Plus subscribers.
