Mojang has revealed Minecraft's newest biome, jungles. Featuring enormously tall trees, ferns, and more vines than you'll know what to do with, jungles will be the tenth distinct environment to be introduced into the game.
Lead developer Jens "Jeb" Bergensten posted a teaser image of the new biome early yesterday on Twitter. Shortly after, Jeb also explained that the new biome would be getting its own unique set of animals. He didn't offer any specifics, but if fan requests are any indication, it's safe to assume there are some blocky monkeys headed to Minecraft in the near future.
The new biome is currently available as part of the game's latest Snapshot release. For those of you not in the know, Minecraft's weekly Snapshots allow you to check out the features the team is working on before they're patched into the game proper. If you'd like to try your hand at some tropical bushwhacking, you can download the files here and drop them in your game folder.
