A new rumor has come up suggesting that World of Warcraft: Legion will be releasing this June.
Several European retailers have listed what appears to be a placeholder date of June 30, 2016 for their pre-order pages for the game. These include Netherlands-based retailers Bol, Tweakers , and BudgetGaming, Empik from Poland, and MEPlay from UAE. This seems to be a favorable time frame to release games. Among the game releasing at the latter end of June are Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games for Wii U, Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and Zero Time Dilemma. Also planned this month with no set dates are Ark: Survival Evolved, Dangerous Golf, Obduction, and We Happy Few.
What makes this rumor especially interesting is that it contradicts an earlier rumor that suggested that World of Warcraft: Legion would be releasing in September. This was actually a leaked picture prior to the start of 2015’s Blizzcon event stating it would be releasing on or before September 21, 2016. Technically, if this rumor proves true, it does not contradict that statement.
World of Warcraft: Legion will be the sixth expansion to the venerable MMO and will bring vital changes, particularly to the PvP mode. Blizzard already explained that it would institute a Honor system, which works similarly to Call of Duty‘s prestige system. Earning Honor points will raise a player’s Honor level, and give out rewards including gold, artifact power, and Honor Talents.
World of Warcraft: Legion will be released on Windows and Mac OS X.
