As the first game in the franchise to be developed outside of Naughty Dog, Uncharted: Golden Abyss raises some pretty important questions. Chiefly, will someone still be forcing Nolan North and company to wear skin-tight mo-cap suits?
Short answer: yes. Long answer: yes, and this time there's an imaginary canoe.
Sony has released a behind-the-scenes video confirming that while the developer and platform may have changed, the series' much lauded motion-capture process has not. In fact, Naughty Dog actually let SCE Bend Studio use their studio and equipment, just to make sure their high standard of quality carried over into the franchise's first mobile release.
If you're into this sort of stuff, it's a fascinating fly on the wall look at just how much technology and artisty go into making those cutscenes so impressive. If you're not, it's still pretty entertaining watching two fully grown men do their best to pretend like they're not wearing spandex.
Uncharted: Golden Abyss launches alongside the PlayStation Vita on February 22.
