A job listing from Call of Duty developer Infinity Ward has indicated that the studio may soon be turning their attention to the next-generation of consoles.
The description for a Senior Animator posting (accesible through the company's job search page) states that applicants should have "an interest in working with next-generation technologies."
If the past is any indication, the next Infinity Ward-developed Call of Duty game will be out in November of 2013. Given that Microsoft and Sony are still keeping mum on their plans for future hardware, that's perhaps a bit early to be thinking about a next-gen release.
Of course, as much fun as it is to read into these things, a snippet of text in a job posting is hardly confirmation of any actual work Infinity Ward is currently doing. Like any other employer, they hire with the long term in mind, and anyone who's getting a game industry job in 2012 will have to deal with next-gen development in the near future.
Alright, now that I've done the requisite wet-blanketing, we can return to fun stuff: wild speculation. Next-gen Call of Duty with dinosaurs. You heard it here first.
