Sony has just revealed a PlayStation VR launch bundle, available for pre-order beginning Tuesday.

The bundle will come with the all the core components of the PlayStation VR basic package, including the headset,  headphones, and demo disc. Alongside this is one PlayStation Camera, two PlayStation Move controllers, and a copy of PlayStation Worlds. This whole bundle is an incredible value at only $ 499.99.

This bundle only comes in limited quantities, but Sony promises that they will be selling more limited edition PSVR bundles in the near future. They also revealed today that the basic PSVR package itself will not be available for pre-order. The bundles will be available for pre-order here beginning March 22, 7:00 AM PT.

PlayStation VR Package

To put this in perspective, a PlayStation Camera is $ 60, a single Move controller is $ 40, and a retail game can itself also go for $ 60. This launch bundle promises quite a bit of savings for VR early adopters, but fans will have to be lucky enough to get in a pre-order. Considering Sony promised they would be making a bundle just two days ago, this was an incredibly fast turnaround to get fans what they wanted.

This launch bundle is also closer in value to the Oculus Rift than the basic PSVR package. For $ 599, pre-orders for the Oculus Rift come with the headset, sensor, remote, an Xbox One controller, and VR copies of EVE: Valkyrie and Lucky’s Tale.  EVE: Valkyrie and Lucky’s Tale are, of course, considerably bigger games than PlayStation Worlds, but these only serve to help justify the higher price tag.

Will you be pre-ordering the PSVR launch bundle? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
