Shadow Complex was first introduced to gamers back in 2009 by developers Chair Entertainment and Epic Games. Originally, the game released exclusively for the Xbox 360 on Xbox Live Arcade and it became a massive success, with developers officially selling more than 600,000 copies by 2011. Now developers have gone through a remastered edition of the game which is currently available for Microsoft’s Xbox One console. For gamers on Steam and PlayStation 4, the remastered edition of Shadow Complex will be coming out later this year.
The game Shadow Complex told the story of Jason Flemming and his girlfriend Claire. While roaming about, the two stumble upon a series of caverns in which they decided to explore within. Although, once inside, Claire becomes missing as Jason witnesses a massive underground complex filled with soldiers. Players are tasked with finding Claire and discovering the reason behind the massive faction operation buried deep beneath the surface.
As mentioned, when Shadow Complex first released it received critical acclaim leading developers Chair Entertainment and Epic Games to go back and make a remastered edition of the game for current generation consoles and PC.
Currently, Shadow Complex Remastered is available for the Microsoft Xbox One with Steam and PlayStation 4 gamers receiving the game at some point this May 2016 though a specific release date has yet to be determined.
While the full ten-hour game is present within the remaster, developers have tweaked the visuals to give Shadow Complex a graphical enhancement, and additional achievements, Master Challenges, along with new dynamic melee take-downs.
