Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon Reportedly Releasing Around September 2023

March 1, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

We might be getting our hands on the next Armored Core installment this fall.

The Game Awards 2022 came with a few surprises, and during the presentation, one of those surprises came in the form of a new Armored Core game. We haven’t seen this series picked up in a good while. With FromSoftware moving on to new ventures, the IP mainly laid dormant. Now we know that the next installment is coming from the studio, and if a report is to be believed, we might have it this fall. Of course, this is only a report going off from sources. So with that said, this is nothing official as we’re left waiting on the actual release date announcement.

Recently, Exputer reported that they’d learned Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon would be coming to the marketplace before Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. According to the report, the author learned that the internal goal right now within the studio is to see the upcoming mech game launch into the marketplace anywhere between September to October. In particular, it’s noted that the studio has more opportunities to release Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon within late September. Although, that’s only if there are no internal delays that would force the development team to further push the game back.

If this ends up being the case, we should start seeing marketing materials released to the public fairly soon. We haven’t seen much of this game, although we expect an impressive mech experience. A big component of this game is customizing your mech, which the developers have highlighted. We haven’t seen this in action quite yet, but from past comments, tweaking your mech for different battles seems to be pretty expanded on with this game.

In fact, it was previously stated by Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon producer Yasutaka Ogura that newcomers to the franchise can pick this game up. You won’t have to play previous games in the installment. But there could be a learning curve in the amount of customization and adjustments players are making to their mechs throughout the game.

Again, we’re left waiting on the official release date of Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. Currently, we know that the game is slated for this year, and when it does release into the marketplace, you’ll find it available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms.
