When we received word that GSC Game World was shuttering its doors, most of the gaming community assumed–and rightly so–that the game they were working on, STALKER 2, was ending with it.
Whether through a miracle or through an angel investor, GSC Game World yet lives, and has updated its Facebook page with news that work on Stalker 2 continues.
"We are continuing work on Stalker 2 after the holidays," read one of its recent posts.
Some sleuthing from a Russian gaming website Galyorkin also uncovered that the studio is currently in talks with potential investors, and is looking for financial backers to keep the development of Stalker 2 alive. The site notes that even though the development of the game remains in limbo, there is a strong hope that it will be revived.
We'll have our fingers crossed and hope that the game gets all the help it needs to finally see release.
