Markus Toivonen’s Pixelart Demakes of Popular Games

January 8, 2012 by Ian Miles Cheong

These pixelart demakes of games like Halo and Bayonetta will make you wish they were real.

If you thought that Markus “Notch” Persson made everything in Minecraft by himself, you’d be surprised. The man’s had a small, but hardworking team to back his efforts.

Apart from working on games like Minecraft, Mojang’s art director Markus Toivonen does pixelart demakes of popular games in his personal time—among other things.

Pixelated demakes of Halo, Final Fight, Soul Calibur, Brutal Legend, Bayonetta and Last Ninja feature among his works, the rest of which can be found at his DeviantArt page.

Needless to say, they’re pretty, and I wish they were real games.
