When it comes to Splatoon 3, the thing that many fans get hyped for is the Splatfests. These events bring everyone together for glory and pride as they defend one side of a topic they cannot help but love. We’ve already had a few Splatfests in the newest entry, and fans have loved the results that have come out for them. But the question was whether we’d get one next month or whether we’d get one in March. That was due to the Salmon Run special “Big Run” event that seemed to be set up for alternating months, but perhaps that’s not the case anymore.
We say this because on certain Nintendo Twitter accounts, specifically the ones for Europe and the UK, they revealed the next Splatfest event, which will arrive next month. So what’s the topic? Well, it’s about chocolate:
That’s right. We’re having back-to-back taste bud challenges! This time it’s about what kind of chocolate you adore the most. Dark chocolate, milk chocolate, or white chocolate! At first, this may seem like an odd topic to have given we just had the “Spicy, Sweet, or Sour” argument to kick off 2023. However, when you realize that this Splatfest will happen right before Thanksgiving, everything because clearer. After all, what do you give them if you have a “special someone” on Valentine’s Day? The answer typically is “flowers and chocolate.” So if your partner has a particular kind of chocolate that they love, you better get that for them so that they know you’re paying attention!
Plus, while it sounds basic, there are key differences between milk, white and dark chocolate. For example, white chocolate tastes differently from the rest because of the parts of the cocoa bean it uses. It doesn’t use any solids but is made from cocoa butter. Meanwhile, dark chocolate has no milk and is mostly made of the solids from the cocoa bean. That’s why it also has a unique taste.
Milk chocolate is the most “common” of chocolates and is what you often taste when you have chocolate bars or chocolate chip cookies. Some people will die on the hills saying white chocolate and dark chocolate are better than milk chocolate; thus, the topic needs to be settled!
There is still some confusion over whether this is the next global Splatfest because past games have had different Splatfests going on in different regions. So perhaps for the US, the next event for Splatoon 3 will be a different one. Only time will tell.
