Child’s Play raised over $3.5 Million in 2011 – pat yourself on the back if you contributed to that.
The charity announced that it raised $3,512,345 in 2011. Jesus, Mary and Joseph that’s a lot of money! This beats their record in 2010 of $2.2 million, which is still a buttload of money. That’s so much help going towards kids who really need it.
The goal for this year is to beat the $3.5 million total, and given the rate everyone was donating at in 2011, it probably won’t be much of an effort.
Child’s Play donates toys and video games to hospitals for sick kids. These provide and endless amount of benefits for kids, from helping them recover with play therapy to just providing a pleasant distraction to help them forget they’re sick for a while. Hospital can be a very scary place for kids, and toys and games help make it feel just a little bit like home.
If you want to contribute to this year’s goal, you can donate at their website.
