Stuck in line at the grocery store? Tried to Fus Roh Dah everyone out of your way? No one taking you seriously? Maybe you need a helmet – and now, you can make your own! Custom Steampunk artist Rawr Bomb has made his own Dragonborn helmet, and apart from looking really cool, it’s not something that will break the bank, either.
If you want to make your own helmet, you don’t even need to a cosplay genius to do so. Rawr Bomb has posted pictures of how he put his helmet together using just a cheap, plastic soldier helmet, some heated styrene, some studs to hold it in place, some paints and some clay.
Now, while this is hardly a step by step guide, it should give anyone determined to make one enough knowledge of the construction, which is half the battle. If you’re a little hesitant to use styrene and studs, you could probably even attempt this with some heat-moulded craft foam and hot glue – your results may vary a little, though, so do some research before you start buying supplies.
All that aside, though, that is one beautiful helmet.
