Total War: Warhammer will now be released on May 24th, developer The Creative Assembly announced today.
“This could be the best Total War game we’ve ever made. We don’t want to rush it,” Mike Simpson, Total War creative director, explained in a press release.
A precise reason for the delay wasn’t given but Simpson hinted that the team wants to ensure reviewers receive copies well before the game’s release.
“It’s an enormous game,” Simpson said. “And we also want to make absolutely sure reviewers have enough time to play it thoroughly before launch.”
Accompanying the news of Total War: Warhammer’s delay is confirmation of the game’s minimum, recommended, and ’60FPS+’ requirements. The Creative Assembly notes that these specs are “a guide rather than an absolute” and should be treated as such.
