You Can Now Pick Your Side For The Splatoon 3 Pokemon Splatfest

November 4, 2022 by Todd Black

You have to pick one!

If you’ve been enjoying Splatoon 3 since its launch in September, you haven’t been alone. The game has been making record sales worldwide, and it’ll very likely become the best-selling game in the franchise before all is said and done. But easily, one of the biggest reasons people are excited to have a new game is the return of the Splatfests. These monthly events bring the fanbase together to fight for true supremacy! Next week is the next one, and it’ll arguably be one of the most impactful ones ever.

Why? Because as previously revealed, the Splatfest will be a collaboration between Splatoon 3 and the upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet! It’ll be Team Grass-Type vs. Team Fire-Type vs. Team Water-Type Pokemon! You know, as in the three types you get to choose from for your starter Pokemon in all the games? Exactly. Over the years, many fans have debated what type is the best one to start out with, and now, you’ll be able to settle it in splat!

Today, the gates have been opened to make your selection. That way, you can do it now, not have to worry about it on launch day and head straight into the matches when the time comes. Just like the previous Splatfest, it’ll be a three-day event from next Friday to next Sunday. So hopefully, you don’t have weekend plans so that you can defend your Poke-pride!

The tweet below shows off the gear you’ll get for choosing your side and highlights the Tri-Color battles you’ll be having after the midpoint of the Splatfest. It will be a very colorful battle highlighting the passion Pokemon fans have for the franchise and this topic. It should be fun.

Which partner Pokémon type will you choose? It’s time to pick your Splatfest team!

The timing of this is perfect, and the idea of using this to promote Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is brilliant. It’s true that the game already has a lot of hype and buzz going into it, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t build more of it. Plus, some players of the ink game might not have thought about getting the RPG the following week. So if they can bring in more players and make it one of the biggest launches the series has ever had? Then mission accomplished!

The only thing with Splatoon 3 right now that fans are unsure of is what will happen next. Not in terms of the December Splatfest, but some of the other events they’ve been promised are coming. Recall that the team behind the game said there would be a special event called “Big Run” that ties into the Salmon Run mode. Unfortunately, it’s been almost two months since the release, and we haven’t heard anything about that. So hopefully, that’ll come soon!
