It's arguable that Capcom has long since milked the Resident Evil franchise into the skinny cow it has become, but that isn't stopping them from going a step further by putting it on life support.
Word from voice actor Joe Cappelletti seems to indicate the existence of Resident Evil 6, which appears to be in development at the moment. With Operation Raccoon City still on the way, it is doubtful that we'll hear any official word about RE6 until after the aforementioned game is released.
According to Siliconera, the voice actor listed the game on his CV, and promptly deleted it after they posted the news. We doubt that Capcom is too shaken up about it, given the press it'll bring to the unannounced title.
Here's to hoping that Resident Evil 6 is in development on a next-generation console and not one of the present ones.
