Hitman Go Sneaks Onto Steam, PS4, And Vita Later This Month

February 15, 2016 by Stephen Daly

Hitman Go Definitive Edition offers improved visuals and additional missions compared to the mobile game.

Square Enix has announced that Hitman Go, their well-regarded puzzle strategy game for mobile platforms, will be released on PC and PlayStation later this month as Hitman Go Definitive Edition.

On the company’s blog, it was confirmed that the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita versions of the game will offer Cross-Buy, meaning if you purchase the game on one platform you’ll unlock it on the other, and Cross-Save, allowing you to pick up and carry on from wherever you left the game on the other system.

The Steam version of the game comes with wallpapers, emojis, trading cards, and achievements.

Hitman Go on console and PC offers improved visuals over the mobile original as well as all of the DLC so far released. Additional missions include Blood Money’s Paris Opera level and Hitman 2: Silent Assassin’s St. Petersburg Stakeout.

You can check out the game in the above trailer and play it for yourself when it releases on Steam and the PlayStation Store on February 23rd. Be sure to also check the gallery of new screenshots at the bottom of this post.

Hitman, the next major game in the series, will be released in March for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The game’s first beta ran on PS4 over the weekend and PC players will get their chance to try it out before launch on Friday. The game has had a somewhat convoluted path to eventual release. When it was originally announced at E3 last year, Square Enix and developer IO Interactive promised a full $60 game with only some of the content at launch, the rest was set to follow in a series of free updates. Now, however, Hitman has fully embraced the episodic model and offers an Intro Pack and Full Experience for players.

Last week, IO boss Hannes Seifert apologised to fans for any confusion over the game’s launch model and stressed that the developer firmly believes it has adopted the right approach.
