Another day, another video game rumor. The latest rumor being thrown around is that the next Xbox (assumed to be called the Xbox 720) will be announced at the 2012 CES in January. Tech reporter, Paul Thurrott, has been quoted as saying:
”What I'm hearing is [the next xbox is] going to come out for the holidays next year, meaning that they would almost have to announce this at CES, wouldn't they? That's my rumor… that we'll expect to hear something about that. They're going the Apple route where they want this thing to integrate very ightly with Windows 8 and Windows Phone, which is a problem with the current Xbox.”
I'd personally be surprised if this turns out to be true, but I've been wrong plenty of times before. CES is just a few months away so I suppose we'll know for sure then.
