There’s an upcoming game called Amy. Developed by Paul Cuisset, the creator of Flashback, and his team at VectorCell, Amy is a survival horror game that puts you in the role of of Lana, a young woman who must protect and escort an autistic 8-year old girl named Amy out of a city overrun by humans infected by some strange disease.
In their attempt to escape, they must hide from the infected, and even the military—which like the ones in “The Crazies” are tasked to kill anything and everything in sight.
A new dev diary explains the relationship between Amy and Lana as they attempt to get through the hostile environment. They have no choice but to help each other to survive. Amy can, for example, get through a variety of narrow passageways thanks to her small size.
Amy’s presence is somehow beneficial to Lana, allowing her to fight off whatever infection is afflicting the rest of the city.
When you hold Amy’s hand, you can feel her heart beating in the controller’s vibrations. It’s a nice, human touch. Her heartbeat is heavier when danger is near, allowing it to act as an indicator to the level of danger.
Being the autistic, and perceptive girl that she is, Amy often discovers points of interest that would otherwise go unnoticed by Lana.
Amy is set for release this Fall on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
