EA has released six new screenshots from Battlefield 3's upcoming Back to Karkand pack, alongside an announcement of the expansion's launch window and price.
The DLC features updated versions of four maps taken from previous Battlefield games: Strike at Karkand, Wake Island, Gulf of Oman, and Shariq Peninsula. Also included are five new achievements, ten remastered Battlefield 2 weapons, three new vehicles, and a selection of new custom dog tags and camo designs. In addition, Back to Karkand introduces another persistence system that rewards players for completing specific assigments during a match.
The new screenshots showcase how the Frostbite 2 engine, with its support for hectic destruction, will help make Strike at Karkand and the other returning maps feel completely fresh in Battlefield 3.
EA has also announced that Back to Karkand will be launching in December. The DLC will be free for those who preordered the full game and $14.99 for those who didn't.
