Sega announced its plans to continue the "Shining" series of games (not to be confused with Stephen King's The Shining) with a new title called Shining Blade.
The franchise remains one of Sega's long-running IPs, and was first started by the release of Shining in the Darkness, an RPG very much like the early Might and Magic games. The franchise branched out with the release of Shining Force—a turn-based strategy RPG in the same vein as Fire Emblem.
Shining Blade was given a small preview in this week's issue of Famitsu, which revealed that the game is planned for a Spring 2012 release on the PlayStation Portable.
Shining Blade features designs from Tony and music from series staple Hiroki Kikuta.
