The Bayonetta series has established itself as a high-quality benchmark for what character action games can be. Its hack and slash gameplay and over-the-top story rival that of Capcom’s Devil May Cry series, and it has built a name for itself as a result. While the original Bayonetta is available across multiple platforms, Bayonetta 2 launched as a Nintendo Wii U exclusive. PlatinumGames could not receive the funding or support it needed from its publisher, Sega, to develop a sequel. Nintendo stepped in to offer a new publishing deal that ensured PlatinumGames could continue working on the franchise, so long as it became exclusive to Nintendo platforms. Bayonetta 2 has only been released on the Wii U and Nintendo Switch as a result. With that in mind, fans may be wondering, which platforms will Bayonetta 3 be released on?
What platforms is Bayonetta 3 releasing on?
Bayonetta 2 was only available on the Wii U until it was eventually remastered and released as a double package with the original game on the Nintendo Switch. The reason for that is that Nintendo has an exclusive publishing deal with PlatinumGames. That still holds true today.
Bayonetta 3 will be released on October 28 this year, and it will only be available on the Nintendo Switch. Fans who were hoping to play the Umbra witch’s latest adventure on a non-Nintendo platform are unfortunately out of luck, and it seems unlikely that the game will be making its way to other platforms in the future either.
