Princess Peach’s Castle has Been Recreated in Halo 5

January 25, 2016 by Stephen Daly

Your castle is in the wrong game.

When you think of Halo 5's Forge mode you probably don't associate it with something like Princess Peach's castle, the fortress made famous by 1997's Super Mario 64.

Redditor Bearskopff has however recreated the castle, uploading the results to his Imgur gallery and discussing how he went about making it on Reddit.

Every brick used to create the castle is a single object on the map, with Bearskopff explaining, "No shortcuts taken here. Was very keen to simulate the geometry found in the original game."

The "cartoony" aesthetic of the castle was achieved using Halo 5's "baked lighting". Unfortunately, Forge has a limit of 1024 objects per Forge map and the castle alone took up 1023. Bearskoppf had hoped to extend his map to the surrounding area as seen in Super Mario 64.

Bearskopff has also replicated the Millennium Falcon, the Death Star's loading bay, and Metal Gear Solid's Shadow Moses. You can check all of those out on his Imgur gallery.
