How are you feeling about Denuvo? You’ll be hearing a lot more about it soon, if the rumors are true.
Far Cry Primal, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and possibly Tom Clancy’s The Division will all be using the anti piracy software to protect its files.
For Far Cry Primal, we know this for certain because it’s alluded to in their EULA. The EULA also states that some of Denuvo will stay in the computer even if you uninstall the game.
For Rise of the Tomb Raider, the evidence isn’t as solid, but there’s a good case to be made to believe it. An image from the game was found on the tech support site for Codefusion. The Codefusion site is registered to a Denuvo employee, in the same location as their headquarters. It may take the release of the EULA to confirm this one, but it seems highly likely.
Lastly, there’s no solid evidence that Tom Clancy’s The Division will be using Denuvo as of yet, but the rumor did spread around that Ubisoft intends to do so. Since we already know Far Cry Primal will use it, it would not be a surprise if Ubisoft used it for all their games moving forward.
Far Cry Primal releases on PC on March 1. Rise of the Tomb Raider is releasing on PC early this year. Finally, Tom Clancy’s The Division is releasing on PC on March 8.
