Ubisoft released a story trailer for Far Cry Primal today, showing off various characters and locations from the game.
The trailer shows the player character, named Tarak, undergoing what looks like a spiritual ritual. Tarak is described as a “seasoned hunter” who is trying to reunite his tribe after they scatter during an attack by the rival Udam tribe.
We also get a look at Ull – leader of the Udam tribe, and the game’s primary antagonist. Ubisoft’s website describes him as someone who commands the respect and fear of his tribe. “He is a fierce brute with limbs of timber and severe fire burns across most of his body. His nose and ears have melted away leaving him with a mottled mask,” so he really just sounds like someone who’s in need of a hug and some chocolate.
We also briefly see Tensay, the Wenja Shaman. He is described as “psychotic yet charming,” which sounds exactly like a shaman should be. The video also offers glimpses of Batari, the “divine matriarch of the Izila tribe,” along with Sayla, another member of Tarak's Wenja tribe.
Ubisoft has launched a string of trailers showing off different parts of the game. Yesterday, we got a more in-depth video about Takkar, along with a behind-the-scenes look at the game’s development.
Far Cry Primal is set to release for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 23rd, 2016, with the PC version following on March 1st.
