Nintendo of America has finally revealed all the release details for Fire Emblem Fates, culminating with the Fire Emblem Fates Edition New Nintendo 3DS XL.
The special edition 3DS comes with white and black patterns on top and bottom reflecting the sides of Fire Emblem Fates Birthright and Fire Emblem Fates Conquest. This special edition 3DS releases at the same time as the game on February 19. Note that the game is not bundled in. Of course, given the different options for buying the game, this may actually be for the best.
Again, to explain how the game is being sold, Intelligent Systems made the equivalent of three games. In Fire Emblem Fates Birthright, you take on a corrupted king. In Fire Emblem Fates Conquest, you play in the misguided kingdom and change it from within. BothBirthright and Conquest are complete games with a full story, letting you see the same battle from both sides. After finishing one side, you can buy the other side for $ 19.99. When you do this, you also get access to the third story, another complete game, called Fire Emblem Fates Revelation. This third path sees you choosing neither side, and learning surprising truths. Fire Emblem Fates Revelation will be available to play on March 10.
If you are fortunate, you can get the launch special edition, that will have all three games in one game card. This special edition will also have an artbook, and a Nintendo 3DS XL pouch for $ 79.99.
Lastly, Fire Emblem Fates will have special map DLC, starting as early as launch. You can get Map Pack 1 for $ 17.99 or buy them individually as they release.
That’s a lot of Fire Emblem to buy! Will you be getting them all at launch? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
