Item and equipment trading isn't a part of the game in Destiny, nor will it be a part of The Division. The upcoming game from Ubisoft is close to Bungie's title in terms of gameplay mechanics, and the lack of player trading is one of the features that's being carried over.
The developers at Ubisoft Massive confirmed to GamesRadar that the upcoming multiplayer-oriented team-based shooter will not have any form of item trading for players, at least at launch. The developers said that they're prioritizing other features over the ability to trade.
“It’s the reality of production. Some features make it, some features don’t,” said associated creative director Julian Gerighty.
The developer said that the feature may yet make it in at some point in the future because some team members are very passionate about adding it in.
“It’ll maybe make an appearance in the future," he said.
However, given how close The Division is to Destiny in terms of gear acquisition and the like, item trading may well serve to unbalance whatever the game's current systems are like, should they ever decide to add it in.
Earlier today, the game's graphical options on PC were leaked.
The Division is set for a March 8 release on the PC, Xbox One and PS4.
