Techland has released new tools to modders for Dying Light, which are now available on the Steam Workshop. The new tools allow modders to play around with co-op and player-vs-player functionality. This free update opens new creative options for players, who can use the tools to design co-op based scenarios and deathmatch maps.
The free update launches alongside a new PvP-oriented custom map called Don't Drown, created by a member of the Dying Light community named RabidSquirrel. The map takes place on an island and interestingly enough, features rising water levels that forces players to move to higher ground further into the match to avoid drowning. Players must explore the map, avoid zombies, and find powerful weapons to use on each other.
‘Just like with the main game we’ve been supporting the Dev Tools for almost a year now, and we’ve already seen amazingly creative stuff from our fans’ – says producer Tymon Smektała. – ‘We believe the co-op and PvP support can inspire a new wave of original maps for everyone to enjoy. At the same time, we’re working hard to bring some the very best custom maps to consoles, and I hope we’ll have something to announce soon.
