Final Fantasy XIII-2 producer Yoshinori Kitase has told Japanese mag Dengeki PlayStation that the RPG will be getting quite a bit of DLC, to the tune of one to two updates per month.
While we’ve heard a bit about the content that will be on offer, Kitase commented that the add-ons will be more involved than merely downloading a new item, costume, or weapon. Even loot-centric DLC packs will have gameplay additions, as you’ll have to defeat monsters in order to access the items. For the clothes-horses out there, you’ll be happy to know that your party will retain its decked out appearance in cutscenes.
As to how much each pack will set you back? Kitase won’t say yet, but he promises that Square Enix is shooting for a perfect balance between price and quality.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 hits Japanese PS3s and 360s on December 17, with a North American launch following a month later on January 31.
