Videogame dogs had a pretty good run last year, and it looks like their success is continuing into 2016. The CW’s World Dog Awards, which is apparently a thing, is conducting a vote on the internet’s favorite virtual canine (Via GamesRadar).
The finalists for this revered prize consist of Dogmeat from Fallout 4, D-Dog from Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, Chop from Grand Theft Auto 5, and the puppies from Barbie and Her Sisters Puppy Rescue. While the last one came out of left field, there should be a healthy competition between Dogmeat, D-Dog, and Chop.
The overall awards are good-natured in spirit, featuring categories like Best Dressed Dog, the Happiest Reunion, and Dog of the Year (which Dogmeat should also be nominated for). There will be an actual awards ceremony, hosted by George Lopez, airing on the CW on January 14 at 8 p.m. EST.
