Sony CEO Kaz Hirai revealed that PlayStation VR will have 100 titles in a CES interview.
To be specific, he cited 200 developers working on PlayStation VR, on 100 or more titles. Overall, he cited good support for what will be a great product when they launch it this year.
Hirai also opined that he feels PlayStation 4 offers an immersive game experience on flatscreens as it is. And so, PlayStation VR will help them create a better and more immersive game experience.
Regarding applications beyond gaming, Hirai again cites the large install base the PlayStation 4 has, and says once they have shifted enough of the PS4 install base into PlayStation 4, they will explore applications beyond gaming.
Of course, Hirai had to roll off PlayStation VR details when he was asked why they did not bring the device over at CES at all. Of course, Oculus Rift and HTC Vive had sufficient representation at the event.
Essentially, Hirai did not explain why they did not reveal their device at the event either, but of course, we will learn more about it later this year.
