Sony is adding more than 40 PlayStation 3 console exclusives to the expanding library of games available on the streaming service. This pushes the number of PS3 exclusives available to stream at over 100, with the non-exclusive game count rising above 300.
Some of the games added in the update include Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, Journey, God of War: Ghost of Sparta, Heavenly Sword, White Knight Chronicles, and Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty. You can check out the full list of games on the service on the PlayStation Blog announcement here.
Considering some of the bigger name PS3 exclusives, like Uncharted 3 and Journey, already have PlayStation 3 remastered editions, some may question why a subscription to the service is necessary. Sony is offering a free week trial subscription. A regular one-year subscription costs $99.99, or about $8.30 per month.
Sony has been slowly expanding its streaming service over the past year. First, they brought PS Now to Samsung Smart TVs last year. In August, they bought up the remains of competing streaming service OnLive. The company has released little information about subscriber numbers or retention.
