A modder has changed the appearance of characters in the Steam release of Final Fantasy VI. The game originally released on the platform earlier this month, but featured a modernized art and graphics style. This upset some of the game’s diehard fans, who preferred the original sprite character models.
Success. FFVI without that stupid filter. >_< pic.twitter.com/mpFCNY7iSO

Late on Christmas Eve night, intrepid modder Nyxo posted the fix that would remove the stylized filter from the game. If you were holding out because of the new look, you’re now in luck: the patch comes just in time for the game to receive a slight discount on Steam for the Winter Sale. Now that the Christmas Steam Account Caching fiasco is over, you can safely purchase the game knowing that it will look just like it did in 1994.
