PlayStation 4 hacks may soon be on the way, as hackers have shown proof of jailbreaking.
We know not everyone reading may understand the technical details, but as shown in the video above, by forcing the console’s UI to crash, hackers are able to dump the system RAM and start messing with the system’s code.
The hackers are also working on an earlier version of the system firmware, but claim they can reproduce the same on the latest version, and they are currently working on this.
Sony has been religiously updating the PlayStation 4’s firmware, in a clear bid to stem hacking, and what Sony is really afraid of, piracy. Piracy has infested practically every console Sony has ever made, and every time it’s not a matter of whether the hackers can, but when.
Sony can be hopeful that much like Smealum’s homebrew enabling hacks on the 3DS, the PS4 hackers will deliberately not allow for software piracy. If anything, hackers could use their hack to add feature for the sake of fans.
