Make Your Own Missions in Hotline Miami 2’s Map Editor

December 11, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

Hotline Miami 2’s map editor is out.

Hotline Miami 2's map editor is finally out. Sort of. It's currently available in beta, and you can access it instantly by simply downloading the game's latest update on Steam.

Though it's listed as a 'beta', Dennaton has released the map editor for players to play around with and is fully functional. The editor allows you to create maps similar to the ones used in the game itself.

Unfortunately, because it's still in beta, there's no Steam Workshop support so you won't be able to easily share your creations or download anyone else's maps. For now, you'll need to share them the old fashioned way, by copying files and sending them to your friends.

The developers at Dennaton have prepared a beginner's guide on how to get started with using the map editor, if you're keen on checking it out. The developers also plan to release more advanced guides in the near future as they continue to develop it.

To access the editor, right click on Hotline Miami 2 in your Steam Library and select "Properties." Then head into the "Betas" tab and select "editor_beta" from the dropdown list and the game will update to the beta version.

Be sure to read Dennaton's prepared setup guide on how to get it working.
