Warhammer 40,000: Dark Nexus Arena has launched on Steam Early Access today and features a new game mode and playable character.
The MOBA/shooter hybrid is being developed at Whitebox Interactive and is being developed on the Unity 5 engine. The game entered closed alpha testing in May of this year and the new mode, titled Soul Hunter, sees players defeat opponents, capture their souls, and bring them to the Dark Nexus at the heart of the map. As you perform a kill streak, the number of souls you collect increases significantly, with the first team to reach 50 winning the match.
As for new character, Lychguard, the first Veteran from the Necrons, has been introduced.
"Warhammer 40,000: Dark Nexus Arena features a control scheme that shooter fans will love with the teamwork and character progression MOBA fans expect, in one of the most beloved franchises in gaming," Jonathan Falkowski, Whitebox Interactive's CEO, commented in a press release. "After months of feedback in closed beta testing, we know Dark Nexus Arena will deliver a much more polished experience than the majority of games in Early Access."
