If you’ve ever wondered what Fallout 4 would look like if the original developers were still creating the games, you’re in luck. Redditor yttriumtyclief has uploaded some screenshots of the game from a faraway, isometric point of view.
Yttriumtyclief says: “Hey all, made a new save purely for taking gorgeous screenshots and for making better documentation on the Fallout Wiki. As I was playing around with camera angles and other camera settings I got inspired to take some isometric screenshots of what Fallout 4 might be like if it was made by Black Isle. Figured I’d share, so here you go!”
The screenshots can be viewed below.
While this is nothing more extraordinary than zooming the camera all the way out via the console, this post could inspire similar mods. Anyone who has played Fallout or Fallout 2 will find the overtop, at-an-angle point of view familiar. Some of the shots even look like Wasteland 2, the kickstarted sequel to the Fallout franchise’s spiritual predecessor. That game, like the original Wasteland, also used an isometric point of view. It would be interesting if any players tried to make their way through the game like this.
Fallout 4 is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Bethesda recently released patch 1.2 on Steam, which disabled the NexusMods launcher.
