DICE has announced plans to open the large and expansive Caspian Border map to the beta testers of Battlefield 3 this weekend. The map, which is much larger than the current Operation Metro map supports up to 64 players, in contrast to 32.
The map will be a reward for beta testers and mark the end of the beta.
"Please keep in mind that as this is beta we will be stress testing our servers," reads a notification posted on the official message boards. "Users may experience crashes, network instability and outages as we roll out and configure servers and network utilities."
The Caspian Border test will be limited to the PC only, with 64-player server configurations. The Caspian Border servers are expected to launch starting Friday, October 7th at noon.
