Monster Hunter hasn’t been any bigger than it is this year. You want proof? You might not believe this.
Monster Hunter X has outsold Monster Hunter 4G on the Japanese 3DS eShop. This is incredible for two reasons:
1) These are digital sales for both games for both their lifetimes.
2) Monster Hunter X has only been out for one week.
While Monster Hunter 4G was originally released in Japan on October 11, 2014, Monster Hunter X has only been out for four days.
Monster Hunter 4G sold over one million units in the West, as Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. Similarly, Monster Hunter X has the potential to sell well when it gets released outside Japan as well. The thing is, Monster Hunter X has yet to be confirmed for the West, but it’s highly doubtful that it won’t get localized.
