Kentucky Route Zero’s developer Cardboard Computer has announced via Twitter that the game’s fourth episode is still on its way. Because the last episode was launched in May of 2014, the developer provided the above teaser art to further legitimize its assertion that Act IV actually exists. The studio released an interlude last Fall called Here and There Along the Echo, which was a mini-episode of sorts. Until today, there had been no activity for future acts.
Act IV is almost done! Excited to share it soon.

The game is an abstract “magical realist” point-and-click adventure title. While fans may be excited to hear the next act is almost finished, players should remember that the game is meant to be completed in five acts, which means there may be an even longer wait for the final episode. It may be better to wait until late 2016 (or even 2017?) until the game is completely finished. For people interested in the game, this strategy may also be advisable, so they don’t have to endure the wait.
Many had long given up hope that the developer’s magical realist adventure would ever be completed. We had high hopes for the game when the first chapter released over two years ago. Hopefully, the fourth act will release sometime before the end of the year.
